Welcome to the Gull Lake Sailing Club. We are fun group of sailors who love sailing and being out on the water. The club is mainly focused on growing sailing and sailboat racing in Michigan. There is nothing like feeling the power of the wind to move a sailboat across the water!
We offer racing for all monohull sailboats. The Sunfish sailboat is the most popular sailboat ever built. This one-design is good for beginners and seasoned sailors alike. Any monohull sailboat is eligible to sail in our Portsmouth Handicap racing fleet. We’re also happy to add a start for any one-design Class that has three or more boats registered with the club. For any fleet start it must have two boats in the starting area any given race day to get a start.

Our main feature is our Wednesday evening racing series. Check the Notice of Series/Sailing Instructions or send us an email with any questions about becoming a member.
You’ve never raced? It’s the best way to build your skill. See Notices of Series for entry deadlines. In addition to the link to the Racing Rules of Sailing in our Notices of Series, find application detail here in SailZing: https://tinyurl.com/StartingARace.
In addition to the Wednesday series we host an annual Sunfish regatta, a race around Gull Island for all fleets, and a Holiday series for all fleets.
